Why did you get involved with this organization?
"I feel privileged to be part of Simply Birthdays because I know they joy these parties bring to Salem's homeless children and their families. Simply Birthdays is also a wonderful way to engage the community in helping our families in need."
What do you do in your spare time?
"I find joy in life by giving back to the community and through my relationships with close friends and family. I have been blessed with an amazing son and friends that share a strong sense of making our community a great place for everyone."
Co-Chair Laura Perez
Educator, Salem-Keizer Public Schools
Why did you get involved with this organization?
"After returning from a mission rip to Mexico, I was dedicated to doing something to make a difference in my own community. Simply Birthdays affords that opportunity, and I have found the birthday parties to be incredibly touching and meaningful - not only to the birthday party recipients, but also to the many citizens who help make this possible through participation and/or funding."
What do you do in your spare time?
"My greatest joys are spending time with my own two sons and my husband. I also love to garden and to do various crafts."
Board Member Arizon
Oregon State University student
Why did you get involved with this organization?
"I have volunteered for Simply Birthdays since October, 2018! I love everything about the program. It's really valuable to see the smiles of kids and adults alike. This lets kids be kids, and makes their birthdays special by creating memories everywhere we go. We get to see the creative side of everyone with our fun crafts!"
